I know many of you have been patiently awaiting the return of the Red Fox Spirit Hood.... and I wanted to let you know that it is back up at www.spirithoods.com

Do your paws hang low?
Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie them in a knot?
Can you tie them in a bow?

Ok, enough of that, but really.... How do you hang your SpiritHoods?  What is the best way to store your favorite furry animal accessory?  As my collection of SpiritHoods grows, I have been determined to come up with a way to hang/store them that is as cool as they are.  Here are a couple of ideas that I have so far.

Leave me a comment and tell me how you hang or store your Spirit Hoods!

I am obsessed with these "Pack Rack" jewelery hangers made by The Future Perfect. Sadly it is too small to hold a spirit hood, but I would die for something like this!

I love the rustic and sophisticated look of the "Wolf Den coat rack." It is charming, yet kind of wild, just like my hoods :)

These stand up coat racks are awesome, but from what I can tell, they are no longer being made.

Have you guys seen these "Lion Paws" by French designer Christian Louboutin?
They were spotted on Blake Lively last week on the set of Gossip Girl, and on Sarah Jessica Parker, back in August, at the premiere of I Don't Know How She Does It.  Truthfully, I am not sure if I love them or hate them, but there is definitely something about them that I can appreciate.  In many ways they share some of the whimsical and wildness of SpiritHoods :)  I sort of can't help but like them.  What do you think?

I want to thank you all again for helping me celebrate one month of GetInMyHood.com by entering my contest to win a custom-made feather accessory for your SpiritHood!  I have enjoyed reading your comments so much and I feel so grateful to those of you who have been following my blog and share in my crazy love for SpiritHoods!

Tonight I drew the winner's name from my Warrior Grey Wolf Spirit Hood.... and the winner is GEORGIA!!  Congratulations!!

Today SpiritHoods posted a link to this awesome website where you create your own wild self.  It's pretty fun because when you finish you can read about each animal component that you add.  If you haven't already seen it, check it out www.buildyourwildself.com

Here I am, in my wildest form :)  How awesome would it be if SpiritHoods could make me a Rein-pol-wal-fro-iger-lemur hood?
On an unrelated note, Thank you so much to all of you who have entered my contest to win a custom-made feather accessory for your SpiritHood!  I have really enjoyed reading all of your comments and have appreciated your support so much!  ... and if you have not entered yet, there is still time!  I will be announcing the winner on Sunday night :)

So... what is a spirit hood?  How did they come about?  What's new and exciting in the world of SpiritHoods?  Check out this interview that Verge Magazine conducted with one of the creators of SpiritHoods, Alexander Mendeluk.

Last week I posted a couple of pictures of a feather accessory that I made for my SpiritHood.  Feathers are such a fun way to make your SpiritHoods truly your own

Based on the small tag that SpiritHoods has recently added to the ear of their newer hoods, I have a feeling that soon the company will begin selling their own hood accessories... but who wants to wait!?  I was asked to create a tutorial on how to make your own original feather Spirit Hood accessory, and here it is!
Here is the finished product!  What do you think?

Tigers are such unique animals.  They are revered, admired, and feared... all in equal parts!

Last week, SpiritHoods announced a new giveaway contest to kickoff the release of the new Tiger SpiritHood.  The contest ends 11/4/11, so if you have not entered yet, you still have time to do so!  See details here.

The contest asks you to do some research to dig up the most amazing fact about tigers that you can find.  I could not help but do some researching myself, and I want to share some of the most interesting facts about tigers that I came across, plus some amazing photos!

Interesting Facts about Tigers (information comes from WWF):

There are as few as 3,200 wild tigers left in
     the world.

  *  100 years ago, there were nine subspecies
of tigers.  Today, there are only six.  In less
than 100 years, entire sub-species –the
Caspian, Javan and Balinese – of tigers have gone extinct . The South China tiger hasn’t been seen in the wild in 25 years.

  *  There are more tigers in American backyards than there are in the wild around the world.

  *  There are no tigers with identical markings.

  *  Some Bengal tigers are cream or white in color instead of orange, due to a recessive gene
for this coloration. Those with the gene are often referred to as "white" tigers and have a pink
      nose and blue eyes.

I am so excited that SpiritHoods is adding the new Tiger hood to the Pro Blue line, which means that 10% of profits will go toward protecting tigers!

I hope you all had as much fun on Halloween as I did!  Although I started the holiday as Kung Fu Panda, I couldn't resist the opportunity to also dress as a wolf using my grey warrior wolf SpiritHood.  Halloween is just too short to only wear one costume!
Really though, doggie Halloween costumes are my favorite part of the holiday.  Here is a collection of some of my favorites!
